How to specify a Radiator

  1. Calculate the heat requirement of the room in Watts. Consult with a heating engineer for the exact
requirement but as a rough guide for initial sizing and pricing allow 50 Watts per cubic metre of the room.
To convert the Watts into btu/hr multiply 3.412.

  2. Choose the location of the radiator and work within any restrictions i.e height, if the radiator is being fitted
    under a window.

  3. Check the list of sizes to see if we stock a suitable radiator. If working within a limited length remember
to allow space for the radiator valves.
